Now, he joins HTE’s growing power division, bringing his expertise alongside his son, Carter Rape, who has been named Director of Power Solutions. Darren Randle is the Chief Operating Officer of Houston Tents & Events, a family-owned business he launched alongside his wife, CEO Kori Randle. Together, they have built one of the fastest-growing event rental companies in the country, known for delivering high-quality event solutions with reliability and creativity. With a background in college and professional sports business, corporate marketing, and sponsorship activation, Darren spent nearly a decade as a client before transitioning into the event rental industry. Now, with over 10 years of experience, he is passionate about helping clients create seamless, memorable experiences. Under Darren’s leadership, Houston Tents & Events has expanded its offerings to include elegant tents, event power, climate control, seating, staging, and more—serving everything from intimate weddings to large-scale festivals. ABOUT 3 PHASE RENTALS
In 2002, Mike Rape founded Audio Visual Professional Group, a Houston-based live event production company. After years of re-renting generators and power distribution, Mike realized he needed a change. In 2008, he established 3 Phase Rentals to support the portable power needs of his production company. Offering ultra-silent generators, power distribution, and temperature control, 3 Phase Rentals quickly gained traction and soon outpaced the production company, becoming one of Houston’s premier portable power and HVAC companies. They supported many notable live events throughout Houston and the surrounding areas. In 2022, Mike made the difficult decision to sell AVPG and focus full-time on portable power and HVAC.
