Step Inside the Season: Behind the Scenes with Kori Randle

Every season, Houston Tents & Events transforms its showroom to inspire clients and showcase the latest trends in event design. For fall, CEO Kori Randle leads the creative vision, blending warmth, texture, and sophistication to set the stage for unforgettable celebrations. In this exclusive interview, Kori shares her inspiration, process, and what fall means to her—and to HTE’s clients.

Kori’s Creative Process: In Her Own Words

What was your vision for this year’s fall showroom?
Our vision was to create a space that captures the warmth and richness of the season while showcasing how Houston Tents & Events can transform any setting. We wanted the space to feel like a true reflection of the season: cozy textures, layered tones, and an atmosphere that inspires people to gather. Whether it’s a small family dinner or a large celebration, our goal was to make clients immediately envision their own events coming to life.

What inspired the color palette and textures you chose?
We drew inspiration from the natural beauty of a Texas fall, think golden wheat, rust, deep olive, and soft neutrals. Those tones bring a sense of grounded warmth that feels timeless. To balance it out, we layered textures like velvet, rattan, and wood accents. Together, they create depth and dimension while still feeling sophisticated and approachable while giving the cozy feeling of fall gatherings.

How do you approach curating seasonal changes in the showroom? Is there a process you follow or is it more intuitive?
It’s a blend of strategy and creativity. We start with the events our clients are planning for the season such as weddings, corporate gatherings, holiday parties and design around those needs. But once we’re hands-on in the space, it becomes very intuitive. We move pieces around and play with texture until the space feels just right. Our team has a great eye for detail, and everyone contributes ideas to make each seasonal transition feel fresh.

Were there any standout pieces or design elements that you’re especially proud of this season?
Definitely. Our new harvest-inspired tabletop settings and statement floral installations are highlights this year. They add dimension and depth while still keeping that signature HTE sophistication our clients love.

How do you want clients to feel when they walk into the fall showroom?
I want them to feel inspired, welcomed, and excited to start planning! We want them to picture their event coming to life seeing how color, texture, and design all come together. But more than that, we want them to feel at ease, knowing that Houston Tents & Events can bring that same feeling to their own celebration; whether it’s a backyard celebration or a large-scale gala.

Did you face any challenges while designing or installing the fall setup? How did you overcome them?
Of course, every great setup has its behind-the-scenes hurdles! Timing and inventory are always big ones, especially in our busy fall season. Coordinating new inventory, installs, and photography takes a lot of moving parts. But our team is incredible; everyone worked together and supported one another to bring the vision to life on time and beautifully executed.

How does the fall showroom reflect HTE’s brand and values?
It’s the perfect representation of who we are. Every design choice ties back to our core values—intentional design, exceptional service, and a genuine love for creating unforgettable experiences. Every season, we aim to show clients that we’re not just a rental company; we’re partners in creating memorable experiences. The fall showroom showcases our dedication to quality and our belief that beautiful events begin with thoughtful details.

What kind of feedback have you received so far—from clients, staff, or even friends?
The feedback has been amazing! Clients love how cozy yet elevated the space feels. Many have told us it’s their favorite showroom look yet, it’s been wonderful to see people walk in and immediately start planning their next event.

Can you give us a sneak peek into what you’re thinking for the winter or holiday showroom?
I can’t give away too much just yet—but expect something timeless and elevated. We’re leaning into cozy warmth, soft shimmer, and a touch of festive magic. It’ll be a celebration of the season, Houston Tents & Events style.

Lastly, what does fall mean to you personally, and how did that influence your design?
For me, fall is about slowing down, connecting, and celebrating togetherness. It’s that time of year when we gather more around tables, under tents, and with the people who matter most. It’s a space built for togetherness and creativity, just like the events we help bring to life every day. This sense of warmth and connection was at the heart of every design decision we made this season.
