When Extreme Makeover: Home Edition planned a Houston-based project, the media company handling production sought a local partner with a solid reputation in event rentals. We partnered with Taylor Morrison, the lead developer on the project, to supply essential event infrastructure. From providing climate-controlled tenting for volunteers and donors to setting up comfortable spaces for the Elrod family’s loved ones, we played a crucial role in ensuring the entire experience was seamless.
Behind the Scenes: Setting Up for a Life-Changing Transformation
Houston summers are no joke, and with temperatures soaring past 100 degrees, keeping everyone comfortable was a top priority. Our team supplied large-scale tents equipped with climate control solutions, ensuring volunteers and crew members could work efficiently without the harsh Texas heat slowing them down. We also provided essential event rentals, including safari chairs, flooring, and lighting, to create functional spaces for donors, sponsors, and community leaders.

One of our most impactful contributions was creating a dedicated space where volunteers and carpenters could work on building furniture and custom pieces for the new home. This area became a hub of activity, buzzing with energy as professionals and community members came together to bring the vision to life.
A National Spotlight: Seeing Our Work on TV
When the episode aired, we were in Las Vegas attending the American Rental Association (ARA) show, one of the biggest events in the event rental industry. While we couldn’t watch it live, our phones lit up with messages, screenshots, and clips from friends and family who recognized our Houston Tents & Events logo on national television.
