Houston Tents & Events Doubles Its Footprint with Acquisition of A Finer Event

Rapidly growing HTE acquires 20-year-old Houston company to create a single-source locally owned rental company for all event types and themes

HOUSTON (Oct. 8, 2024) – The best just got bigger as Houston Tents & Events (HTE) has acquired A Finer Event, continuing its expansion as the fastest-growing tent and event rental company in Texas. HTE has doubled its footprint at 14820 North Fwy., adding more than 30,000 square feet of inventory, and brought on A Finer Event’s dedicated management team with more than a century of combined experience. In addition, HTE has hired 25-year industry veteran Stephen Naleway (Events Plus in Conroe, Texas) as its new general manager and 28-year industry stalwart Fito Reyes (Aztec Events & Tents) as senior operations manager. 

HTE was recognized as one of the fastest-growing organizations in the Southwest Region by Inc. in 2024 and ranked as the 25th fastest-growing company in Houston by Houston Business Journal. Its acquisition of A Finer Event further bolsters its reputation as a full-service solution for event rental needs – creating a one-stop shop for event rentals in Houston.

A Finer Event was founded in 2004 by the late Mike Little, who passed away in 2023 after a battle with cancer. The family-owned company has a rich legacy that dates back to 1977. Little’s journey in the industry began with Alpha Rents, a pioneering venture that set the standard for event rentals in Houston. He grew A Finer Event to nearly $2 million in annual revenue.

“In the wake of my dad’s passing, there was a season of transition to find the right fit for A Finer Event’s next chapter,” A Finer Event’s Jeremy Little said. “Having worked closely with Darren over the years as a partner on events, we felt his company held similar values to how we’ve done business for the last 20 years. In addition to the game-changing acquisition, HTE has bolstered its leadership team with the hiring of Naleway and Reyes. The two industry veterans will lead a growing team that now numbers more than 60 full-time employees.
